By the end of next year, 60% of the EU’s GDP will be online. Worldwide, countries are taking different approaches. Belgium is famously adopting a big bang approach, where all companies VAT-registered in Belgium must comply with requirements on the 1st January, otherwise they will face fines, penalties and unpaid invoices. Belgium follows Mexico, Chile and Senegal with the big bang approach. Other countries are opting for a phased approach, like France and India.
